Seasonal Treats

Well it has started. Easter eggs are in the house & (even though Easter is still a fair few weeks away), my children are already negotiating for chocolate at every juncture!

Now don’t get me wrong; obviously my family are surrounded by tasty treats every day but there is something about having chocolate formed into eggs once a year that makes it feel even more special.

Maybe it’s the fact that you can only get them like that for just a few weeks that seems to make them even more tasty. I am sure that I am not the only person who has made the mistake in the past of purchasing Easter eggs ahead of time only to shamefully scoff the lot in front of the TV the same evening. Then I have to go and purchase some more (after binning the evidence) & the whole terrible cycle continues.

I am not a theologian & so I have always been a little unclear as to the scriptural connection between chocolate eggs and ‘the Passion’. ‘For our Lord did love chocolate & lo; didst He decree a day when all should take it unto themselves in remembrance of his sacrifice’. Not sure.

In any case, I am happy that we have adopted the practice because it provides me with an excellent excuse to come up with some new seasonal treats for you all. This Easter I am very excited to be unveiling our new Cake Path Easter range.

It includes such delights as ‘Columba Pasquale’,(traditional Italian Easter cake in the shape of a bird). ‘Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! it’s Columba Pasquale.

Alongside these, I will be producing a range of chocolate egg shells with different fillings (passion fruit, Oreos, etc). Brownie lovers need not feel left out as I will be creating a signature Easter brownie topped with strawberries.

I have been working for some time to get my chocolate eggs just right (if you can catch the chocolate chicken then it all falls into place). They will be joined by our Cake Path chocolate Easter Bunnies (stuffed with goodies). I used to make & sell Easter eggs back in Brazil & it has been nice to return to the practice.

So why not sit back, relax & let us cook up your Easter yummies. Don’t forget that we now offer ‘to your door’ delivery as well as postage options.

Easter never tasted so good!
